Katherine Prince
Senior Director, Strategic Foresight
One of the United States’ foremost educational futurists, Katherine leads KnowledgeWorks’ exploration of the future of learning. She speaks and writes about the trends shaping education over the next decade and helps education stakeholders strategize about how to become active agents of change in shaping the future. Since 2007, Katherine has worked with education stakeholders around the country to apply insights from KnowledgeWorks’ forecasts on the future of learning to their own contexts. Katherine holds a bachelor’s in English from Ohio Wesleyan University, a master’s in English from the University of Iowa and an MBA from The Open University with emphases on creativity, innovation and change and on knowledge management. She also earned a certificate in Foresight from the University of Houston. Katherine is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.
Jason Swanson
Director, Strategic Foresight
Jason explores the future of learning, helping stakeholders translate future insights into forward thinking visions for transforming education. Jason has explored how trends and developments such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and augmented and virtual reality might impact learning. He has authored dozens of articles and forecasts, ranging from the future of work and readiness, the future of credentials, the expansion and diversification of educator roles and the creation of learning ecosystems. An experienced speaker and facilitator, Jason has worked with a diverse array of education stakeholders to make sense of the future, including students, teachers, administrators, education innovators, policymakers and more. A graduate of the University of Houston’s Master of Foresight program, Jason is also a fellow in the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (the RSA) and a board member for the Association of Professional Futurists (APF).
Katie King
Director, Strategic Foresight
In her role, Katie manages externally facing strategic foresight projects and partnerships, co-designs and delivers workshops and contributes to KnowledgeWorks’ publications about the future of learning. Katie has previously served as a consulting futurist for various nonprofit organizations and taught middle school English in Texas and California. Katie holds a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Southern California and a master’s in foresight from the University of Houston. She is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and co-author of The Futures Thinking Playbook
