The American Youth Policy Forum (AYPF) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, professional development organization that provides learning opportunities.

Competency-Based Education: Promising Policies and Practices for the Future of K-12 Education will provide a national overview of developments in the field of competency-based education across K-12 education and highlight ways in which education can prepare students for success in postsecondary education, work and life.

Virgel Hammonds, chief learning officer of KnowledgeWorks, will be joining a panel discussion at the forum called “State and District Voices– Building Equitable, High-Quality Education Systems that Prepare Students for Postsecondary Success.” Also on that panel discussion,  which will be moderated by Susan Patrick of iNACOL, are Superintendent of Schools for Regional School Unit 2 Bill Zima, Director of the Office of School Transformation for the South Carolina Department of Education Latoya Dixon and Director of Instructional Support for Student-Centered Learning with the Idaho State Department of Education Kelly Brady.
