Started in 2010 with a collaboration between Arizona State University and Global Silicon Valley (GSV), the annual ASU+GSV Summit is the industry catalyst for elevating dialogue and driving action around raising learning and career outcomes through scaled innovation. The 9th Annual ASU+GSV Summit will take place from April 16-18 in San Diego, California.
Lillian Pace, vice president of policy and advocacy for KnowledgeWorks, will be joining a panel discussion at the ASU+GSV Summit. The session, FoT@PreK-12 Panel: Education Policy Today: Pathway or Problem?, will explore whether education policy today is a problem or a pathway for the innovation required to raise the bar for students. Panelists will discuss policy at the federal, state, local levels and reflect on how it has both fueled and curbed their efforts. We will focus on creative approaches to navigating and leveraging education policies to drive innovation, reflect on current and future policy challenges, and discuss whether education policy must adapt (and how) to meet the needs of America’s students.
Moderated by The 74 CEO Romy Drucker, the panel will also include
- Lewis Ferebee, the superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools
- Barbara Jenkins, the superintendent of Orange County Public Schools
- Hanna Skandera, the former superintendent of the New Mexico Department of Education
