School is about to start back up, which has many of us wondering what learning is going to look like. Will we take lessons learned from the past 18 months and use those to inform the future of learning? One way to navigate that path is to listen to students. On the Remaking Tomorrow podcast, they’re doing just that.
When asked about what they’d like to see more of from teachers, one student spoke about connection, wanting teachers to check in with students who look upset and the ability to say to a teacher, “I’m struggling and I need you to understand.”
While producers from Remake Learning, SLB Radio and KnowledgeWorks supported these new podcast hosts through technical assistance, background research and stipends, the students are very much in charge of the topics and interviews, which has led to great results. Favoritism in the classroom? Importance of social-emotional learning? Confirmation about the importance of relationships and communication? Watch for discussion of these topics and more.
