As a first-generation college student, I greatly value creating learning environments that are empowering and supportive. I find that using data to drive educational approaches brings visibility to areas of growth and identifies new ways of thinking, teaching, and learning, leading environments toward educational equity.
As research project manager, Shardai Brown leads the management of complex research projects and supports data lifecycle management and applied research work. She brings expertise in project management and evaluation, as well strong experience in research and diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.
Shardai has a great passion for education and has spent over 10 years in biomedical research, higher education and EdTech product strategy. Having contributed to 12 peer-reviewed publications ranging from hearing sciences, neurodegenerative disorders and faculty-student community building, she brings a wide range of research experience to KnowledgeWorks. Shardai has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Charleston Southern University, a Ph.D. in biomedical research from Medical University of South Carolina. She’s currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel.
A self-proclaimed science nerd, Shardai loves doing at-home experiments with her two daughters. She enjoys a good mystery novel and mystery TV show, like Perry Mason and Only Murders in the Building.
