We know that we all do better when we work together.

Our Vision

At KnowledgeWorks, our vision is that every student experiences meaningful personalized learning that enables him or her to thrive in college, career and civic life.

Our Mission

By delivering innovative education approaches and advancing aligned policies, KnowledgeWorks activates and develops the capacity of communities and educators to imagine, build and sustain vibrant learning ecosystems that allow each student to thrive.

Our Why

COVID-19. Murders of citizens by the people intended to protect them. Our nation’s systemic, historic racism and white supremacy in full view. Violence in our communities. Inequities that have long been present in safety, well-being, food security, healthcare, housing and access to quality education have been exacerbated and laid bare. Our country’s rigid, unforgiving infrastructure has crumbled under pressure and exposure.

Many people are exposed and endangered right now, with millions of children among them.

While this moment is fraught with uncertainty, complexity and strife, it also provides a clear and unmistakable opportunity for visionary leadership. Many are talking about a return to normal, but if we do that, we will be doing a disservice to students, educators and learning communities. Normal isn’t good enough. It never was.

As KnowledgeWorks navigates the present and partners with others to shape our collective future, we are faced with a moral imperative. The future of learning needs to be equitable, learner-centered, flexible and resilient. It needs to accomplish what our education system has purported, but failed, to do. It needs to meet the needs of each student.

Together with our partners, we are creating the future of learning.
