Introducing the 2021-2022 Leading Change Community Fellows

Topics: Building Capacity, Community Partnerships

In October of 2020, KnowledgeWorks pulled together 13 educators from 10 different states to co-design a peer-to-peer learning community just for educators working to create more equitable, personalized learning environments for each student. As a result of their collaboration, continuous learning and belief in the collective power of educators, over 350 changemakers are now connected through the Leading Change PLC.

Together with our founding Personalized Learning Community Fellows, we learned so much through the process of designing and launching an online community and facilitating virtual connections with educators from around the country. After working together for the last year, our 2020-2021 Community Fellows are now passing the torch to a new group of educators who will set the direction for the Leading Change PLC.

These educators will work together and with KnowledgeWorks to:

  • Design and facilitate inclusive opportunities to learn and share new ideas and resources with fellow educators who are leading transformation to personalized, competency-based learning, advocating for change and building the capacity of others – from the classroom to the state-level
  • Create safe spaces for educators to learn about and examine diversity, inclusion, equity and justice as they advance personalized learning practices and policies
  • Determine areas of focus for Leading Change PLC discussions and peer-to-peer learning opportunities based on educator needs and current events/challenges
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow, equip and engage an educator community that is racially/ethnically diverse and ensures everyone feels welcome and supported
  • Advise on the long-term growth and direction of the community
