Hundreds of educators, principals, curriculum specialists, instructional coordinators, superintendents and school technology staff will explore what personalized learning looks like in the classroom and around the country during MasteryCon, where KnowledgeWorks will share expertise about learner-centered approaches in the classroom.
KnowledgeWorks, a national leader in personalized learning, will present during two sessions at MasteryCon, a K-12 event for mastery learning and formative assessment organized by MasteryConnect. The organization will help attendees explore personalized learning practices for a learner-centered classroom and consider personalized learning opportunities through the Every Student Succeeds Act.
“MasteryConnect brings together hundreds of educators who are expanding personalized learning throughout the country,” KnowledgeWorks President and CEO Judy Peppler said. “We are excited to work and share ideas with educator pioneers who are personalizing learning to help more students succeed.”
KnowledgeWorks will host “Minds On Fire – Be the Spark!,” an interactive design lab focused on developing effective personalized learning practices in a learner-centered classroom. During the 3-hour workshop, participants will understand and foster ideas for creating a classroom’s shared vision and norms for learning, as well as the role of Standard Operating Procedures that increase student engagement. This session will take place on Wednesday, July 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Additionally, KnowledgeWorks Director of State Policy Anne Olson will speak on a policy panel during a general session, which will explore the opportunities to personalized learning under Every Student Succeeds Act. The panel will take place on Thursday, July 28 at 1 p.m.
