The 2019 Mid-Atlantic Conference on Personalized Learning is for those transforming education in the Mid-Atlantic and northeast regions and features dynamic and interactive sessions focused on personalizing learning for K-12 students.
Matt Williams and Virgel Hammonds will be presenting a session called “State-level Support for Personalized Learning” on Thursday, March 14 from 2:25-4:40 pm. During this session, they will share how shifting a system to support personalized learning is a complex task that requires commitment at all levels of the system. They will explore how North Dakota and South Carolina have created policy environments that support this transformation and how districts in those states have seized that opportunity to create student-centered learning environments. Participants will have the opportunity to explore a problem of practice in each of these two states, using case-study-based small group discussions.
