Focus Forward: Preparing Today for the West Virginia of Tomorrow

September 16, 2019
Charleston, West Virginia

The second annual Focus Forward: Preparing Today for the West Virginia of Tomorrow conference will be held on September 16, 2019, in Charleston, West Virginia.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2018 Focus Forward event that examined how machine learning and artificial intelligence will impact future jobs and required skills, we are reconvening to address how big data will continue to transform West Virginia’s education system, the economy and workforce.

As the volume of data and information explodes, advanced technology evolves, business models transform and innovation flourishes, West Virginia must confront the game-changing effects of big data. Join us to explore innovative approaches that ensure West Virginia can grow, compete and prosper in this revolutionary new age.

Rebecca Wolfe, PhD, vice president of impact and improvement at KnowledgeWorks, will be participating in a panel discussion called Education Revolution in the Era of Big Data. The panel will look at questions like, “How do we prepare students with the right skillsets to thrive in the era of big data as workforce needs evolve?”
