2020 Forecast Update

Guest post by Jillian Darwish

I am delighted to share that this week KnowledgeWorks released an update to our 2020 Forecast: Creating the Future of Learning.  This update on the existing drivers of change includes two significant points of departure for us.

First, it presents our perspective on the “world of learning” that we are committed to realizing.  This world of learning puts learners at the center of the system, leverages technologies and human capital in new ways, and incorporates new structures.  As detailed in the update, it has implications for future learners, for learning agents, and for the learning system itself.

In addition, the update identifies opportunities for taking action.  Key opportunities include expanding leadership, growing deep connections in place, exploring diverse learning agent roles, repositioning learning with your public, developing skills in education transition, and supporting new forms of assessment and alternative credentialing.

To stay abreast of new information, news, and research about the future of learning, visit our Future of Ed blog.  If you would like to explore these ideas and their implications for your organization further, we would welcome the opportunity to work with you.  Please get in touch with us at 2020forecast@knowledgeworks.org or 513-929-1365.
