KnowledgeWorks helps spearhead strategy to help education funders leverage impact

KnowledgeWorks, Grantmakers for Education (GFE) a national network of 260 public and private philanthropies, and Collective Invention, a social innovation firm, have developed an approach for grant funders and philanthropies to explore how to help transform the education system toward innovation and next-generation learning.

KnowledgeWorks Chief Executive Officer Chad Wick will receive the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio College Access Network, or OCAN, on Monday as part of a joint conference with the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

Illinois Institute of Technology to Provide More Than $2 Million in Scholarships to New Tech Network Students

The Illinois Institute of Technology, or IIT, will offer up to 25 scholarships annually worth more than $17,000 a year to graduates of New Tech Network high schools, the Chicago-based university announced today.

New project profiles Ohio students after graduation from innovative Early College High Schools

Adairia Kelly of Dayton, a member of Ohio’s first Early College High School graduating class at Dayton Early College Academy, is now nearing graduation at Miami University with a degree in social work. Kelly has achieved success with odds heavily against her – having overcome disruption in her early life as the child of teenage parents and the death of a brother due to street violence.

Veteran telecommunications executive Brian Ross named president of KnowledgeWorks

KnowledgeWorks today announced that veteran telecommunications executive Brian Ross has been named president of the Cincinnati-based national education reform organization.

Ross, 52 and a KnowledgeWorks board member since 2007, assumes the title of president from founding chief executive officer Chad P. Wick, who remains CEO. Ross will manage the day-to-day operations of KnowledgeWorks and help the non-profit organization rapidly expand its portfolio of innovative high school approaches nationwide.
